2012 Student Leaders
On Wedneseday 30th November the students of Glamorgan Vale State School, were able to hear from the prospective school leaders for 2012. All students participating, presented speeches of a very high standard. It is an outstanding achievement for a small school to be able to have such a large cohort of students of such calibre. I congratulate all the students of their accomplishment. The students from Years 2 – 7, along with school staff, were then able to vote for the student they wish to represent them in 2012. On behalf of the school community, I congratulate the following students on their success: The school captains are Nadine and Mitchell. Danyela as Gold house captain and Dane as Blue house captain. The school prefects are Taleah and Tahlia.

ARL Gala Day

I would like to congratulate all the students involved in the BVSSSA Austag Gala Day held at Mt Tarampa SS, involving nine schools from the district. In very hot conditions and with no substitutes available, the students were excellent ambassadors for Glamorgan Vale SS. They acted in a very sportsmanlike manner, and behaved magnificently. The students are a real credit to their community. At the end of the day, the competition was decided by dividing the number of tries scored by the number of students participating. The final results and scores were:

First Place: Glamorgan Vale State School (2.73)
Second Place: Tarampa State School (2.70)
Third Place: Minden State School (1.97)
Fourth Place: Coominya State School (1.91)

On behalf of the school community I would like to extend my thanks to the ARL Development Team, Lowood Stags Rugby League Club (who sponsored the trophy), and Mr Joshua Elwell who organised the event.

Teacher Aides Day
On Wednesday 7 September we celebrated Teacher Aides day. Teacher aides play a vital role in the education of our students and each day they assist the teachers in classroom preparations and assist with facilitating learning experiences. Mrs Saunders, Mrs Solman and Mrs Nielsen work tirelessly for each student at our school and their contributions are truly valued by staff and students.
